Going from Flynn Cruiseport Boston to Logan Airport

Logan Airport is only about 7 miles from the Boston Cruise Port. There are a number of transportation options. Make sure you give it plenty of time to reach your flight. 

 

1.  The Easiest Option - Take a Taxi

Taxis are the easiest and quickest option to go from the Boston Cruise Port to Logan Airport.  The cost is about $30 and it will take about 15-30 minutes.  Taxis will be lined up very close to the cruise terminal and there are usually plenty of them, even without reservations. Once you are at the airport, your taxi will drop you off right in front of your terminal.    

 

2.  The Second-Easiest Option  - Take an Uber or Lyft

A rideshare to Logan Airport costs about $30 and takes about 15-30 minutes to get there. Rideshares are not as convenient as Taxis because they are not allowed to pick you up and drop off near the terminals. Passengers need to walk over from the Cruise Port terminal to the Dunkin Donut, a few blocks away, and then arrange for a pickup. The address of the Dunkin Donut is “One Harbor St, South Boston, MA 02127”.  Once you get to Logan Airport, you will be dropped off in Central Parking near your terminal. From there you will need to walk to your terminal, which just takes a few minutes. 

  

3.  Funnest Option in Summer   -  Take the Water Taxi

The Water Taxi is not the quickest and not the simplest way to get to the Airport, but is for sure the most scenic. For about $25 per person (children $10) you can be whisked across Boston harbor in 20 minutes directly to Logan Airport. 

Alternatively, you can take the Water Taxi to Rowes Wharf in the city ($25) and then leave your luggage at the Water Taxi offices until you are ready to take another hop to the airport ($20)

From the Water Taxi website:   When you are ready to leave the Cruise Port terminal, call the water taxi dispatch line (617-406-8584 option 1) to let them know you’re about to arrive at the water taxi dock.  Then exit the Cruise terminal and turn left.  Go to the end of the building, past the parking lot and take another left back towards the channel ahead of your cruise ship.
 
You will see a fence along the edge of the channel, follow it down to the docks on the left hand side of the road.  The first gate you will see is for police boats and there should be some tied up below.  This is the water taxi dock, but the entrance for the public is at the far end of the dock. Continue walking down the pier with the dock on your left and you will see the second ramp and the entrance to the water taxi area. The gate is located just before the street and the bridge crossing the channel. You will see signs for the Thompson Island Ferry, this is the correct location.

 

 When you arrive at the Airport dock look for the airport shuttle bus #66.  This bus will stop at all the terminals. 

 

4. Most Economical Option - The Bus

This option can take between 30 minutes to 1.5 hours and will cost $2.75. From your Cruise Port terminal curbside you need to walk just one block (0.2 mile) to 29 Drydock Ave. 

Get on the bus and go 3 stops to "Silver Line Way." Leave the bus and go to the other side of the road and take the next SL1 bus in the opposite direction you arrived there. You can use the original ticket. The bus will stop at all terminals.

If you have extra time you can just stay on the original SL2 bus and get out at South Station. You are now in Downtown Boston.
